The Malthusian Trap Head To Sheffield To Record Culture Test Ep With Mu Studios & Jon Burton

A little while ago we were all  sat drinking coffee, discussing the new tunes, the new EP and the question arose of where would we record and who with?  We began discussing bands we like, then started looking at who works with them and came across Jon Burton, a highly experienced sound engineer who had worked with Bombay Bicycle Club and a band we’re all into, The Prodigy.  By a stroke of luck, it also turned out that Doug had been taught by him while studying for a degree in Plymouth.  So we took a stab in the dark, a few emails were sent and before we knew it we were in discussions to record our second studio EP Culture Test up in Sheffield with Jon at MU Studios.

We’re properly pleased to not only be recording with Jon but also to be recording a MU in Sheffield, we’ve done a few gigs up there and as a band we know the city well, so it will be good to not only get the recording done but to also catch up with friends.

We’re all booked in for recording in June, keep an eye out on our FacebookInsta and Twitter to keep up to date of what we’re up to on our travels.

Don’t forget you don’t need to wait for Culture Test to drop because you can head over here to grab a copy of our last EP Palpitations.

We can’t wait to get the new recording out so the next few weeks we’ll be writing the final bits of music and making choices on what we’ll be laying down in the studio.  We have a gig on June 1st that we’re buzzing about so watch out for that one.  Details are coming very soon.

Until then, take it easy.
